Lifeboat Visits Officer (Stonehaven)
Be part of something new and help share the story of lifesaving at sea.
Stonehaven Lifeboat Station has a proud history of welcoming visitors, with our crew regularly hosting local groups such as Scouts, Brownies, community organisations and supporters who want to learn more about our lifesaving work. With the opening of our brand‑new lifeboat station – complete with an exciting new visitor platform and information displays – more people than ever are keen to come and see behind the scenes.
To help us build on this momentum, we are creating a brand‑new Station Visits Team, and we are now recruiting a Lifeboat Station Visits Officer to lead it.
About the role
As the Lifeboat Station Visits Officer, you will oversee all aspects of visits to Stonehaven Lifeboat Station. You’ll support and complement the existing work of our crew, who will continue to host and deliver many visits as they always have. Your role will help us grow and coordinate a wider programme of visiting opportunities—especially as we begin offering scheduled, bookable visits available online to the general public.
What you’ll be doing
In this exciting new role, you will:
- Coordinate all visit enquiries and manage the dedicated visits email inbox
- Oversee the new online booking system for scheduled visitor sessions
- Develop and maintain the visits schedule for the new volunteer Visits Team
- Support the continuation of existing community‑group visits such as Scouts, Brownies and local clubs
- Help shape the visitor experience as the new station’s display area and information boards come to life
- Work closely with station leadership, crew, and volunteers to ensure all visits run smoothly and safely
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys organising, communicating, and helping people feel welcome. It’s a chance to get involved at the very start of an exciting new chapter for Stonehaven Lifeboat Station, helping us share our lifesaving mission with the community and visitors from far and wide.
What we’re looking for
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Confidence using digital tools such as booking systems and shared inboxes (training provided)
- Ability to work well with a team of volunteers
- A friendly, welcoming manner with the public
- An interest in supporting the RNLI’s lifesaving work
Why join us?
You’ll be joining at the launch of a brand‑new project, helping to shape how thousands of visitors will experience our new station for years to come. It’s a rewarding and varied volunteer role at the heart of the community – and a chance to help inspire support for the lifesaving work of the RNLI.
