Help us welcome visitors to our brand‑new lifeboat station!

Stonehaven Lifeboat Station has a long tradition of hosting visits for local groups such as Scouts, Brownies, clubs and community organisations – something our crew has proudly delivered for many years and will continue to do. With the opening of our new lifeboat station and growing public interest, we are creating a dedicated Station Visits Team to support and enhance these visits.

We are now looking for enthusiastic Visits Team Members to join this brand-new volunteer team.

About the role

As a Visits Team Member, you’ll play a key part in delivering warm, informative and engaging visits for all ages. Working alongside the crew and the new Visits Officer, you’ll help show visitors around the station, share the RNLI story, and ensure everyone has a memorable and safe experience. This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved right from the start of an exciting new project, especially as we introduce scheduled, bookable visits open to the public.

What you’ll be doing

  • Welcoming visitors to the station and helping deliver guided visits
  • Supporting existing community‑group visits as well as new public bookable sessions
  • Answering questions and helping people learn about the RNLI’s lifesaving work
  • Working as part of a friendly team of volunteers

Training and guidance will be provided – all you need is enthusiasm and a desire to help others learn about the RNLI.

What we’re looking for

  • A friendly, confident and welcoming manner
  • Enjoyment of talking to people and supporting public engagement
  • Reliability and good communication skills
  • A team‑focused attitude
  • An interest in the RNLI’s mission

Why join us?

This is a rewarding, sociable volunteer role where you’ll help inspire the next generation of supporters, share the work of our crew, and be part of shaping the visitor experience at our brand-new station.
