Branch Chairperson (Gravesend)
In anticipation of the RNLI's 25th anniversary of our lifeboats on the Thames, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced fundraiser who enjoys networking, managing a small team of enthusiastic volunteers and organising local events.
The RNLI has a network of local fundraising teams organising a wide range of activities and events which last year raised £14 million to save lives at sea. Each team is supported by a Community Manager, although the range and frequency of fundraising events is determined by the team members themselves.
Gravesend RNLI is one of three full-time RNLI lifeboat stations operating on the River Thames, the busiest in the charity, collectively responding to over 1,000 shouts each year.
Gravesend RNLI is crewed entirely by highly trained volunteers, providing a 24/7, 365-day emergency search and rescue service. Crews operate on 12-hour shift patterns and are ready to launch at any time, day or night, at the request of London Coastguard.
Based on one of the UK’s busiest and most challenging waterways, Gravesend RNLI’s lifeboat covers a 26-mile stretch of the Thames, from the Thames Barrier at Woolwich through to Sea Reach near Canvey Island.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be a part of Gravesend's lifesaving legacy and a valuable member of our One Crew.
