Event Support Volunteer (Bristol MayDay Collections)

Mayday is a call for help. Usually, RNLI lifesavers answer mayday calls and go to rescue others. This May, they are asking for YOUR help.

You can answer the call for help by offering your time at the RNLI Bristol Mayday collections on Friday 1 May 2026. We will be fundraising through collections in Bristol city centre and just a couple of hours of your time will help to raise funds to allow our volunteer crews to continue to save lives.

We are looking for people to do a collection shift between 11am -1.30pm, 1.30pm to 4pm and 4pm to 6pm. If you can help please indicate morning, afternoon or evening on the application form.

The money raised will help us keep you safe this summer, when thousands of people will get into danger by the water. Ordinary people enjoying days out with family or friends. It can happen to anyone. It could happen to you, or to someone you love.

We are determined to be there when we’re needed most. But we need to be ready. Training, kit, stations, fuel … these are just some of the things we need to save lives.
