Volunteering as a Lifeboat Visits Officer and being part of the RNLI’s lifeboat station is an important role within the charity as we aim to save the lives of people of all age groups through our fantastic visits programme. This volunteer role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth and welcoming operation of the RNLI lifeboat station during its public opening season. The position focuses on coordinating and supporting the volunteer team who open the station to visitors, helping to create a safe, organised, and engaging experience for members of the public. You will act as a central point of coordination for the visits team, organising rotas, maintaining clear communication, and helping ensure that each public opening session is adequately staffed. By enabling a reliable and well-supported volunteer presence, the role directly contributes to promoting the lifesaving work of the RNLI. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is organised, approachable, and enjoys working collaboratively with others. Strong communication skills and the ability to plan ahead are important, as the role involves liaising regularly with volunteers to understand availability and preferences, and ensuring consistent cover throughout the season.
