Lifeboat Visits Team Member (Kirkwall)

Do you enjoy meeting people and sharing interesting stories? Kirkwall RNLI is looking for new Visits Team Members to help deliver engaging tours and talks at our lifeboat station. This volunteer role is all about helping visitors, from local families to school groups and tourists, learn more about the RNLI’s incredible lifesaving work. You’ll help bring the station to life by sharing information, answering questions, and creating a memorable experience for everyone who comes through our doors.

The role is wonderfully varied. You might be supporting an evening visit for a local community group, such as the Scouts, or welcoming individuals and families for a booked tour of the station. Sometimes you’ll work alongside crew members, and other times you’ll lead small groups yourself. Whatever the setting, your aim will be to engage, educate, and inspire supporters of all ages. Training and guidance are always available, and there’s no need for previous experience; just enthusiasm and a friendly approach.

You’ll be joining a supportive team who love what they do. If you enjoy chatting to people, feel confident speaking to groups, or simply want to help others feel connected to the RNLI’s mission, this could be a great opportunity for you. Whether you can give a little time or a bit more, we’d be delighted to welcome you to the Kirkwall RNLI Visits Team.
