Help save lives at sea by volunteering with the RNLI Macduff Shop
Are you friendly, enthusiastic and looking for a rewarding way to support your local community? The RNLI Macduff Shop is looking for new volunteers to help us grow our fundraising efforts and support the RNLI's lifesaving work.
Our shop is run entirely by volunteers, and every pound raised helps the RNLI continue its mission of saving lives at sea.
About the Role
We are looking for volunteers who can help in our shop and support our expanding programme of fundraising events across the local area.
The Macduff Shop currently opens as many days as volunteer availability allows (currently two days per week), and we're keen to welcome new volunteers who can help us increase our opening hours and reach more supporters.
As part of the role, you may also help take RNLI merchandise and fundraising displays to local events such as:
- Farmers' markets
- Village fetes
- Community events
- Agricultural shows
- Seasonal fairs
- Other local fundraising opportunities
What You'll Do
- Welcome customers and provide excellent customer service
- Help sell RNLI merchandise and gifts
- Process purchases and handle cash/card payments
- Keep the shop tidy, organised and well-stocked
- Assist with setting up and running fundraising stalls at external events
- Promote the RNLI and its lifesaving work within the community
- Help us raise vital funds to support RNLI crews and water safety education
What We're Looking For
You don't need retail experience – we'll provide any training you need. We're looking for people who are:
- Friendly and approachable
- Reliable and enthusiastic
- Comfortable talking to members of the public
- Passionate about supporting a great cause
- Happy to work as part of a volunteer team
- Interested in helping at community events when available
