RNLI shops have a proud history that began with simple fundraising cake stalls run by dedicated volunteers and supporters. Over time, these evolved into retail outlets selling RNLI souvenirs, gifts and Christmas cards, helping to raise vital funds for lifeboat stations and rescue services. Today, the RNLI operates over 160 shops across the UK and Ireland, welcoming almost one million visitors every year and generating essential income to support our lifesaving work.

In Youghal, the RNLI has been saving lives at sea for over 190 years. Since the station was established in 1832, generations of volunteer crew members have launched in all weathers to rescue those in danger along one of Ireland's busiest and most challenging stretches of coastline. The station remains at the heart of the local community, with volunteer crew, fundraisers and supporters all playing a vital role in helping to save lives at sea.

The Youghal RNLI Shop gives local people and visitors an opportunity to support this lifesaving work while learning more about the RNLI's rich heritage in the town. For many customers, a visit to the shop is their first interaction with the charity, making our volunteers important ambassadors for the RNLI.
